Gazprom, Wintershall start gas production at 4A Achimov block
MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and Germany’s Wintershall Dea have launched natural gas production at the 4A block of the Urengoiskoye deposit Achimov formations, as seen by PRIME in a prospectus of the new Eurobond issue of Gazprom late on Monday.
“We have put into operation the 4A block of the Achimov formation of the Urengoiskoye field, and we expect that the 5A block will be put into operation later in the first quarter of 2021,” the materials read.
The combined projected capacity of the two blocks stands at 15.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2027–2030.
Reserves of the Achimov formation of the Urengoiskoye field exceed 1 trillion cubic meters of gas and 400 million tonnes of condensate under the C1 category. Achim Development, a joint venture of Gazprom and Wintershall Dea, develops the 4A and 5A blocks of the formation.
